Furniture painting in Dublin is the cheapest way to make a tired piece look new again. Instead of replacing a wardrobe, dresser or table, we strip it back, prep it properly and spray a hard-wearing finish in the colour you want. Dublin Deco Painting has been refinishing furniture for homes and businesses across Dublin since 2017 — fully insured, with free quotes and a reply within one working hour.
A brush-and-roller job leaves marks. We spray furniture so the finish is even and factory-smooth, with no visible brush strokes. Whether you want to upcycle a charity-shop find, refresh a bedroom set or respray kitchen units, the result is a durable coat that wears like new.
What we paint
We handle most furniture surfaces — solid timber, MDF, veneer, melamine, metal and glass. Common pieces we refinish include:
- Wardrobes, chests of drawers and bedside lockers — bedroom sets resprayed to match.
- Dressers, sideboards and display cabinets — restored or recoloured.
- Tables, chairs and coffee tables — solid-wood and veneered.
- Kitchen units, presses and cabinet doors — see our dedicated kitchen cabinet painting page for full kitchens.
- Doors, mirror frames and shelving — interior and exterior.
If a piece is solid wood or real-wood veneer, we can stain or varnish it to bring out the grain instead of painting over it — your call once we’ve seen the condition.
How the work is done
Good furniture painting is mostly preparation, and most of ours happens off-site so there’s no mess in your home.
- Assess and quote. We look at the piece (or photos), confirm the material and agree a colour and finish.
- Prep. We clean, sand and fill any chips, then apply the right primer — a PU primer on MDF and timber so the topcoat bonds and lasts.
- Spray. We apply even coats in a controlled space, building up to the finish you chose.
- Cure and return. The piece is left to cure properly before it’s delivered back and put in place.
We can also paint built-in or fitted furniture on-site where a piece can’t be moved — dust-sheeted, masked off and tidied up after.
Finishes and colours
You pick the sheen and the colour. We work with quality coatings — including Milesi wood finishes — to suit the surface and the wear it’ll get.
| Finish | Look | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Matt | Flat, no shine | Modern bedroom furniture, feature pieces |
| Satin | Soft, low sheen | Everyday wardrobes, dressers, tables |
| Gloss / high gloss | Bright, reflective | Statement units, contemporary kitchens |
| Stain / varnish | Natural grain shown | Solid-wood and veneer you want to keep “wood” |
Colours can be matched to any RAL or standard paint reference, plus metallic, pearl and lacquer effects. Bring us a colour you’ve seen and we’ll match it.
Pricing guide
Furniture is priced per piece, because a single chair and a six-door wardrobe are very different jobs. Cost depends on size, the material, how much prep and filling is needed, and the finish. As a rough guide:
| Piece | Indicative price |
|---|---|
| Single chair / small side table | from €60–€120 |
| Bedside locker / small cabinet | from €90–€150 |
| Chest of drawers / dresser | from €180–€350 |
| Wardrobe (single–double) | from €250–€500 |
| Dining table & chairs (set) | from €350–€600 |
These are starting points, not fixed prices — the exact figure comes from seeing the piece. Every quote is free, fixed and no-obligation, so there are no surprises later.
